Bulldogs batter Manta Rays

The Baker Varsity Football team is back on a win streak after their 56-0 victory over Lemon Bay last Friday. Baker gained 360 yards on the ground with the help of Sophomore Joseph Byrd. Baker went ahead 14-0 in the closing moments of the 1st quarter, and Baker trailed 35-0 going into halftime. The Bulldog defense was alive during the entire game led by Brian Franklin, and held Lemon Bay to zero yards. Solid offensive line play and tough running by Joseph Byrd and Senior Jasmine Skinner sealed the victory for the Bulldogs. Congratulations Bulldogs!!
After the game ended, Baker’s locker room was very loud. The players and coaches were excited of how well they played. Players Picked Brian Conn up (the Head Coach) and carried him around the room shouting, “This win was for you coach.”
However, They can’t celebrate for long because next week is homecoming week for the Mariner Tritons as well as the biggest game of the season as your (5-3) Bulldogs take on the (5-2) Tritons over at Tritons Stadium.

Lightning Saves Baker High

Fortunately lightning stopped Cape Coral High School from defeating Ida Baker. The officials stopped the game in the third quarter, when the Seahawks were up 30-0.
Cape was stopped from a potential victory by nature. This game was going to determine the best 4-1 team of Cape Coral.
The game will continue where it left off, Monday at 6pm. The Seahawks did not seem very happy with the decision but they had no choice.

Baker is back in the winning zone!

The dogs proved themselves one more time after beating Gateway charter 42-0 last week. I mentioned last week that this game could go either way, but the dogs really danced around Gateway.
Baker is now 4-1 and they are getting ready for next week’s game against Cape Coral High School. Cape High will play very hard against Baker. Cape improved its record to 4-1 after defeating Dunbar High School.
Baker is getting so much confidence and momentum game after game that you can even feel it in the locker room and practices.
It has been three years of losing pains. Coaches are very excited with Baker’s performance and all you hear after each game is “ About time, about time. We are not the old dogs we used to be”
